Introducing Our New Director of Engineering
Engineering Director Eduardo is 'Mex-I-Can'!
If you happen to see a tropically-clad gentleman walking around Marigot Bay Resort and Marina under the shade of his fedora, it's likely to be Director of Engineering, Eduardo Urquiza, who cuts a singular figure on property with his jazzy taste in attire.
An Engineer and Architect with Masters in Business Administration, Eduardo calls himself 'Mex-I-Can' and has a raft of experience working with luxury hotel and resorts brands like Aman, Auberge, Fairmont and Starwood in his homeland of Mexico, Turks & Caicos, Anguilla, Puerto Rico and now Saint Lucia.
He describes his leadership style as strong in decision-making, business management and organization, derived from a robust and comprehensive training and seventeen years of experience in Engineering, Architecture, Maintenance, Project Management, Construction, Life & Safety.
Now Eduardo has joined the team with a mission to develop a master plan for improving the physical composite of the property and upgrading facilities across the resort. He has a palpable enthusiasm for leading at Marigot Bay Resort and Marina in a more sustainable direction via the Engineering Department.
Already a fan of the island, Eduardo admits that Saint Lucia is one of the most beautiful places he's worked, declaring the island “a great destination in the Caribbean, where the blend of different cultures creates a unique experience for the tourist."
Marigot Bay Resort and Marina is a unique property, says the expert. "The architecture is awesome and the most beautiful experience is to stay in our penthouses and suites and watch the daily marina boat show.”
Travel and living in the Caribbean are two of his passions, so time off for Marigot Bay Resort and Marina’s newest Director includes exploring the island, meeting new people and enjoying a glass of chilled rosé in some of Saint Lucia’s most scenic spots.
Join us in welcoming Eduardo Urquiz to the team!
